Our Approach

People from all walks of life should be able to tell their story and make social change happen.

Our approach is to tread carefully and listen deeply - we believe that everyone should be able to tell their story and put forward their ideas for change.

We’ve spoken with hundreds of people across Northern Ireland so far and will be keeping the conversation open: from quick chats to community tours, in-depth interviews to cups of tea at the bingo hall.

The focus of our work covers 3 main aspects:

1. Connecting a diverse movement of people who are passionate about creating fairer places to live

All of our activities aim to inspire and connect people with a shared recognition that a more equal future is possible. Meeting people and building relationships is at the heart of what we do, and we encourage people to stay in touch through online networks as well as face-to-face events.

2. Amplifying the evolving narratives of a place

The research tools we use offer rich insights into the stories of people's lives, told through their own voices and based on real, lived experiences. We aim to understand more about the positive values and aspirations that people hold as well as the inequalities they may face, so that we can engage with narratives of a fairer future. Take a look at our stories page to learn more, or if you’d like to get involved with research activities yourself please sign up here.

3. Supporting people and communities who have ideas for positive social change

One of the most exciting parts of Amplify NI is finding out about the ideas that all sorts of different people have for creating fairer places to live. We know that great ideas for social change come in all shapes and sizes and are keen to support people in a range of ways, check out all the support we offer. You can get in touch with one of our local team members to discuss how we can help you.

We help individuals, community groups and organisations – anyone with an idea for social change can avail of our support.
